Animal Ag Paranoia Over Undercover Animal Rights Workers

May 25, 2008

(Link via Paul Shapiro) Everybody’s looking over their shoulder. Just as vegans need to worry about FBI informants, factory farms in turn are on the lookout for vegans. There’s an interesting piece here about one of the top agriculture policy writers warning factory farms and slaughterhouses to be on the lookout for new hires who are really undercover animal rights people. Some wonderfully clueless quotes, too, like:

Employers should look for out-of-place workers, or those overly curious, he said.

Yeah, that’ll work. As if anybody serious enough about doing undercover slaughterhouse surveillance work wouldn’t have taken steps to blend in. Link.
