PETA Wins Big Canadian KFC Victory

June 1, 2008

I’m often critical of PETA for doing things that create publicity at the expense of making vegans look silly. But credit where credit is due — once in a while the group pulls off something fantastic for the animals. PETA just got KFC Canada to agree to dramatically upgrade its welfare standards, and offer a vegan “chicken” menu item as well. I’d love to hear from Canadian readers about what the heck that new offering turns out to be. I’d imagine it’s fried in the oil as the real chicken, but would love to be corrected on this point.
