What a story this is. There’s a foodie restaurant up the Hudson from NYC that caters to the Michael Pollan conscientious omnivore crowd. Before you dine, they’ll give you a tour of the farm so you can see how wonderfully the animals are raised.
And here’s where it gets great. If you wish, they’ll even take you to the slaughterhouse. Note that I said “to” and not “inside.” Cuz there’s no point in wrecking anybody’s appetite before dinner; they might do something extreme like order a vegan dish!
What’s especially cool is that the New York Times reporter clearly gets the hypocrisy and does an admirable job of pointing it out. Link.
