Time for another story about Agriprocessors — the company whose slaughterhouse cruelties led to perhaps the most disturbing animal abuse video ever produced. If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you know Agriprocessors was raided in May, with almost half its workforce arrested on immigration violations.
Well, Agriprocessors is back in the news. It seems that after this high-profile raid the company hired a PR firm to rehabilitate its image. The Minnesota Star-Tribune reports that one of the first acts this PR firm took was to post fictitious blog entries, purportedly written by a rabbi who had been critical of Agriprocessors’ ethical lapses. Now they’ve been caught red-handed in an attempt to smear this rabbi, making Agriprocessors look even sleazier than ever. Link.
