Link Roundup from Paul Shapiro

New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof has an important column today in support of California’s Prop 2 and the growing success of the animal protection movement.

The former president of the California Veterinary Medical Association published a phenomenal op-ed in the Modesto Bee today regarding his support for Prop 2.

Foster Farms recently donated a quarter million dollars to the opposition in California [Vegan.com covered this last week], and the industry’s new estimate is that it needs $50 million to defeat Prop 2. In the same article, the president of the United Egg Producers asserts, “It is not entirely about the California egg business…but about the industry’s national survival.”

Mike Markarian wrote a good blog about the opposition in California that I highly recommend.

Finally, Supermarket News profiled HSUS president Wayne Pacelle in its top 50 power profiles.
