Growing “Shortage” of Livestock Vets Worries Meat Industry

August 12, 2008

Here’s one more ridiculous subsidy directed toward animal agriculture: the federal government is going to start subsidizing people who study veterinary medicine for large farmed animals. Nobody wants to do this filthy, low-paying work anymore. And who can blame them?

As Jim, who sent me this CNN Video writes:

What kid says, “When I grow up, I want to be a vet for the meat industry, so I can keep animals healthy enough for slaughter!”

Maybe the kid who will get his tuition paid by the government — meaning, paid for by you. Video Link.
