Some big news regarding Agriprocessors. If you’ve been following this story, you know that the company has run into trouble, trouble, and more trouble lately. Well, at long last, the Orthodox Union is stepping in and saying that it will no longer certify the company’s beef as kosher unless it names a new CEO.
To call this action long overdue is an understatement. After all the sleaze perpetrated by Agriprocessors, the fact that the Union hasn’t long ago yanked Agriprocessors’ certification shows its definition of kosher law to be a farce — observant Jews might as well be munching on ham sandwiches as buy beef certified by the Orthodox Union.
