With only four days left, a new public poll (almost certainly the last pre-election poll on this campaign) shows Prop 2 leading by a margin of 60-27, with 13 percent undecided. This is the widest margin of support of any of California’s ballot measures this election, and the numbers are virtually unchanged from the same poll conducted last July (which showed the measure leading 63-24). There are a number of articles about this new poll, and you can read the SF Chronicle’s comments on it here.
The USA Today editors clearly like Prop 2, and one ag trade journal has an interesting article on some of the lawsuits surrounding the campaign. Finally, the SF Bay Guardian has an excellent article about how one major factory farm contributor to the opposition campaign has destroyed the lives of its neighbors.
Don’t break out the champagne quite yet, but things are looking promising.
