Japan Whalers Under Growing Pressure

Today’s Telegraph has a story detailing the growing pressure Japan is facing to halt whaling. The story includes details of a proposed ban on whaling in the South Atlantic. Link.

Relatedly, one of the whaling ships that the Sea Shepherd has been harassing suffered a fatality this week. An engine room worker fell overboard into the frigid sea and presumably perished; his body has not been recovered. Following the tragedy, the whaling vessel’s owner accused the Sea Shepherd of interfering with the search. Link.
