They’re letting Sholom Rubashkin out of jail to await trial, for a measly half million dollars of bail. It’ll be interesting to see if Rubashkin follows the lead of other Agriprocessors employees, who are said to have fled to Israel to avoid prosecution.
A half million bucks is a lot of money, but I’m shocked that there’s no mention in this article of Rubashkin having to wear one of those ankle thingies. If he jumps bail, the judge will end up looking like a complete moron. Link.
