The one element from the punk scene I’ve taken to heart is the whole Do-It-Yourself mentality. For my latest two books, I’ve written, edited, typeset, and indexed the suckers. For Vegan.com, I handle the webmaster and graphics tasks. I love learning new skills and handling all elements of a project from soup to nuts.
But there’s one task I refuse to take on. Doing your own taxes sucks. If I tried to handle my taxes, I’d mess it up big time and the Feds would take me away in leg irons. Happily, this year, I’ve got nothing to worry about: I’m not going anywhere near a tax form.
My longtime friend Jodi is taking care of my taxes for me. Jodi’s got a Master’s in accounting, and she’s a die-hard vegan and dedicated animal activist. If the thought of doing your own taxes this year seems too daunting to contemplate, shoot me an email and I’ll forward it on to Jodi.
