US Announces School Plans for Swine Flu

August 7, 2009

The US government has rolled out its plans for responding to swine flu cases that will emerge this autumn in public schools. It doesn’t sound like they’ll be acting aggressively to close schools when cases emerge. Reading between the lines of the Times’ coverage, you get the sense that they feel like there needs to be a plan in place, even if they know the plan they’ve got is too wimpy to slow the disease’s spread.

So now that everyone’s ass is nicely covered, let’s cross our fingers and hope for the best. Back when I was in public school, the only thing you could die of was boredom. Link.
