Life has just improved for 800 or so vegan prisoners in the UK: they can now buy food and lifestyle products from two “eco-outlets.” One government official is vexed:
They gave up any rights to have principles when they robbed the old lady, burgled a house, smuggled cocaine or beat someone up.
I bet it’s almost impossible to find vegan prisoners who’ve done any of those things. And I thought one of the main points of prison was for reform, and to cultivate principles. This move is long overdue. Link.
