I’m liking Michael Pollan more and more as time goes by. Not that I agree with everything he says, but I love the fact that agribusiness is going after him, and he’s forging ahead undaunted.
The Washington Post has a great story today about how Cal Poly caved to agribusiness pressure, transforming a planned speech by Pollan into a panel that will include a meat science professor. Why? Apparently because the President of Harris Ranch threatened to renege on a half million dollar donation.
It’s becoming clear that animal agribusiness now views Pollan as a genuine threat. Whether they’re able to silence him remains to be seen, but their battle against Pollan has important implications for everyone with an animal rights agenda. (Via Crossfield.) Link.
