USA Today just continued its run of top-notch food safety reporting with an article pushing the Obama administration to fill the vacant position of Undersecretary for Food Safety. The article then goes on to list three priorities that the future Undersecretary should address:
- Labeling of needle-tenderized meat.
- Naming of grocery stores and restaurants that have sold recalled meat.
- Installing video monitoring at slaughterhouses.
All excellent proposals, and long-overdue. (Via Hawthorne.) Link.
