Grain Subsidies vs. Farmer’s Markets

Earmarks from the 2008 farm bill:

Corn, wheat, and soybean subsidies: 35 billion.

Support for farmer’s markets: 5 million.

Imagine how America would eat if those numbers are reversed. Grain subsidies play a huge role in driving up meat consumption by flooding the market with cheap animal feed. Link.
