Subway Begins Transition to Cage-Free Eggs

March 22, 2010

Effective immediately, all Subway restaurants are switching 4 percent of their eggs to cage-free. What’s more, the chain has committed to transition its restaurants to 100 percent cage-free. With more that 32,000 restaurants, this move is yet another gigantic blow to the battery egg industry.

Big congratulations to Paul Shapiro, Josh Balk, Matthew Prescott, and everyone else involved at HSUS for helping Subway to reach this decision. (Via Edible SF and Bon Appétit.) Link.
