HSUS Gives Child Animal Activist Award

March 26, 2010

The Humane Society of the United States just named its 2010 Kind Kid of the Year, and it’s a truly inspiring story.

A Florida nine year old, Zach Wilson, discovered that his local animal shelter was filled to capacity. He asked why and was told that the recession was causing many families to give up their pets. So Zach and his mother responded by founding the Central Florida Animal Pantry, which now feeds 300 animals—keeping them with their families and out of shelters.

Give Zach’s effort your encouragement—his pantry’s website is accepting donations. (Via Markarian.) Link.
