It’s been a bad day for Sholom Rubashkin: the former Agriprocessors slaughterhouse manager has just received word that he’ll be sentenced to 27 years in prison, and also fined $27 million.
The federal government currently does not offer parole on recently committed crimes, so unless Rubashkin’s future appeals are successful he’s likely to do the entire 27 years.
Which means he’s being treated with just about the same degree of mercy that Agriprocessors shows to its animals. Link.
