Firefighter Dies in Egg Farm Blaze

July 5, 2010

Unreal. Less than one week after a fire at a Georgia egg farm killed 200,000 hens, another fire has struck an egg farm in Texas. One firefighter, trapped by the collapsing building, was killed.

Unlike the other egg farm fires that have happened this year, the news coverage isn’t indicating that any hens have died. This fire occured in the facility’s offices and packing center, and it sounds as if it basically gutted a 30,000 square foot building.

Horrifying that an innocent man—a father of two—risked and lost his life to protect a factory farm. (Thanks, Paul.) Link.
