The New Combo Meal: Burgers, Shakes, and Statins

Researchers at Imperial College London are calling for fast food chains to give away a statin pill with every meal, in order to offset their food’s cholesterol-raising effects. This proposal will never get anywhere, of course, but it’s a novel way to publicize the measurably dangerous consequences of a fast food heavy diet.

This idea is attracting widespread media coverage, and that’s obviously a great thing since McDonald’s has already announced its opposition. Link.
