Bittman’s got a must-read review of Julian Cribb’s The Coming Famine: The Global Food Crisis and What We Can Do to Avoid It. Extremely important points, and as with all Bittman’s writing this piece is eminently sensible.
I’ll go ahead and order Cribb’s book but my sense is that it’s much too late and that we’re all fucked: economic, population, and resource realities are leading this century in a direction that will make even the 20th Century look like a walk in the park. Link.
