Steve Wynn Changes Will in Order to End Animal “Concentration Camps”

November 10, 2010

Another sign that casino billionaire Steve Wynn has become totally committed to animal protection: he’s just changed his will to include animal concerns. Robin Leach quotes Wynn:

It’s very simple: I’m killing two birds at once, so to speak. Animal-based food kills people. This way by going vegan … we get healthy and save animals. I’m being selfish, too, because if I can get my employees healthier, we cut down on sick days and gain more productivity. Our plan to take care of ourselves this way has blended right in with our staff. Our chefs have really gotten into it with special vegetarian and vegan dishes on each one of our restaurant menus.

Leach writes that he was so impressed by the vegan meal he ate at one of Wynn’s restaurants that he went online and ordered the materials that inspired Wynn’s veganism: The RAVE Diet & Lifestyle book and the "Eating" DVD.

It gets better. Wynn continues:

I don’t want any more concentration camps for animals that are cruelly treated, force fed to fatten themselves up for our consumption.

I’ve become an animal rights activist. I’m taken care of myself for the rest of my life. So I decided to change my will the last few days in case I croak. I’m not about to, and I’m not planning on that for a long time. But I’ve changed my will to show my concern for animal rights. [My wife] Andrea is in full agreement!

So impossibly cool. Huge things will come from this, beyond what anyone could predict. Link.
