It’s not the decapitation we’re looking for, but the battery egg industry just absorbed another solid body blow. Kraft Foods announced that they’ll switch a million eggs in 2011 to cage-free. Link.
Never forget than each battery egg requires a hen to spend more than 24 hours in a cage under conditions like this. So a million eggs switched to cage-free represents the reduction of a tremendous amount of suffering.
