How the Happy Meal Ban was Won

San Francisco’s Happy Meal ban wasn’t won because a supervisor or two decided to run a resolution up the flagpole to see if anyone saluted. Turns out this victory required an elaborate campaign making use of the talents of a variety of politically-savvy players.

All this to counter fierce opposition from McDonald’s, who even flew out its “Director of Nutrition” to speak against the initiative. Michele Simon has all the details. Link.
