Dioxin Found in Germany’s Animal Feed

January 5, 2011

Seems that agribusiness in Germany has been using dioxin-contaminated feed. How much contaminated feed? Oh, up to 3000 tons worth.

Already, it’s emerged that 136,000 potentially contaminated eggs were shipped to the Netherlands. And you know this is just the tip of the iceberg. This is insane, and reason enough for anyone in Europe to become vegan until all the details of this fiasco have been nailed down.

Yet another sign that whenever you eat animal products, you’re putting enormous faith in a bunch of fuckups to always do the right thing. (Thanks, Matthew.) Link.
