17,000 four week old broiler chickens died in a fire Monday night in Virginia. I’ve said it before; insurance is cheaper that fire sprinklers, and factory farms see incidents like this as a cost of doing business. Just last September, a fire in Delaware killed 16,500 chicks. (Thanks, Lisa.) Link.
