Why Does Food Writing Matter?

Evan Kleiman, the host of KCRW’s “Good Food” show, was asked, “What does it mean to write about food today?” Her answer:

I would say that food writing today is an intellectual and emotional funnel to some of the most fundamental issues of our time.
