Treehugger’s Slideshow of 10 Factory Farming Horrors

February 10, 2011

Slideshows are generally one of the most irksome web presentation formats, as they allow web publishers to display the most possible banners while having to create the least possible text.

That said, occasionally they’re done well, creating an experience that can’t be duplicated in other formats—and this Treehugger.com slide show is probably going to be one of the most impactful factory farming pieces of 2011. It rounds up ten of the most horrendous factory farming cruelties of the past year, and includes a heartbreaking photo for each. And the writing here is remarkably well-informed.

This feature is superb, high-impact, and something that deserves to be widely shared. And the fact that all these cruelties happened within just the past year shows how incessantly new factory farming atrocities come to light. Link.
