Pork Prices to Continue Surging through 2011

It’s a dark day for bacon lovers. Already expensive by recent standards, pork prices are projected to rise by up to 7 percent this year—about double the overall inflation rate for food. And meat prices across the board will be up by about 5 percent.

Normally, meat producers would boost production to take advantage of these higher prices, but because feed costs have gotten out of hand that doesn’t seem to be happening much. Link.
