California just moved a big step closer to banning the sale of shark fins, with the Assembly voting 62 in favor and 8 assholes opposed.
Assemblyman Mike Eng opposed the bill:
If sharks are an endangered species, and are being imported illegally from abroad, why not start in California and ban the taking of sharks in California? This unfairly targets one community, a community I represent. … and that brings into question the issue of fairness.
Eng makes a valid point, so he should either start working to ban the killing of sharks in California or he should shut his pie hole. (Thanks, Carrie.) Link.
