Plant-Strong Diets and Fitness Plans

The term plant-strong was popularized by triathlete, former firefighter, and long-time vegan Rip Esselstyn. It refers to a diet primarily made up of healthful vegan food, including vegetables, fruits, beans, and whole grains. Because it consists of such nutritious foods, this diet provides an excellent foundation to support the high levels of fitness targeted by Esselstyn’s books.

The plant-strong concept inspires people to break out of the all-or-nothing thinking often associated with the word vegan. Whether or not it’s entirely vegan, a plant-strong diet can lead to substantial health improvements. These diets not only benefit health, but also favorably impact animals and environmental sustainability. Even the most devout meat eater can easily move their diet in a plant-strong direction today, which can open the door to going completely vegan down the road.
