Authentic vegan doughnuts, whether vegan or not, require a deep fryer. If you don’t want to deal with the expense and the mess of using a deep-fryer, you can probably find a local bakery that satisfies your vegan donut cravings. Most of these places are all-vegan, but always inquire before ordering!
The rapidly-growing Voodoo Doughnut chain is worth a special mention here. Although not a vegan chain, many of the doughnuts they sell are vegan and prominently labeled as such. At last count Voodoo has 27 stores in 11 states, and there’s no way for me to keep the below list properly updated to reflect their newest locations.
